Union Street Eco-Urban Festival
With its preserved Victorian buildings, San Francisco’s historic Union Street is the backdrop for the annual green celebration during the annual Union Street Eco-Urban Festival, a free event featuring music, food, dance, and exhibits and demos focused on sustainable and healthy living.
Held annually in June, the two-day Union Street Eco-Urban Festival dedicates two of the six blocks of Union Street between Gough and Steiner to the education of the eco-conscious San Franciscans. Green exhibitors, businesses and educators will take their place on the two blocks beginning at Gough Street.
Union Street provides an historic Victorian setting to browse the dozens of exhibitors lining the street, in addition to the neighborhood’s popular restaurants and watering holes, such as Perry’s and Rose’s Café, boutiques and galleries. Learn about green living from demonstrations on sustainable living, healthy cooking, green conscious locals and entrepreneurs. Sit in on local chef’s cooking demonstrations, and taste test gourmet foods. Two stages offer a variety of live music.
The marketplace highlights an international medley of 150 some artists and craftspeople, including Bay Area potters, jewelers and photographers. Think green shopping by purchasing unique creations from local artists using sustainable and recycled materials.
